Directors' Centre Business Surgeries
- How Do They Work?
Do You Need To:
- Talk with someone who can really help you develop your business?
- Spend some time outside the business to work on the business?
- Find some outside, impartial expert advice....?
- Use a sounding board without the baggage or politics?
Attending a Directors' Centre business surgery may be the answer.
Who Is It Aimed At?
- Owner-managers or key decision-makers of growing companies
- People who feel they need help from someone who has 'been there and done it'
- People looking to work with consultants or advisers to grow the business but not quite sure where to go next.
Don't come if...
- You have no interest in working with consultants or coaches
- You just want to moan at someone (ie waste our and your time)
- You don't have the drive and ambition to improve your business!
How Does It Work?
- You prepare and send us an outline agenda - a sample agenda might include: What do you want to talk about? What are your key issues? Background to the business. What are your goals? We also ask for website details and marketing materials. This exercise gets you to focus on what your priorities really are.
- Meet for 80 minutes and talk through your agenda. We will tell you what we think you could do and point out some of the possible options.
- If some of the suggestions include services that The Directors' Centre provides, then we will send a simple, outline proposal including: background, objectives, purpose of the relationship, issues to be addressed, desired outcomes, timing and fees.
How Much Does The Business Surgery Cost?
It costs you your time - it is free. But be aware that we do use the The Business Surgery as a sales tool - roughly 50% of meetings lead to a working relationship. We run the meetings to talk to potential clients, to check market needs and to 'spread the word' about our services.
What Sort Of Things Can You Discuss At The Business Surgery?
Recent issues include some of the following:
- Sorting the strategy or sales/marketing plan
- Sorting the people (senior management team, board) roles, relationships
- Grooming the business for sale, or for investors
- Responding to sudden, fundamental changes
- Improving leadership/delegation skills and,
- New product development, implementing a plan, and so on.
What's So Special About The Directors' Centre's Way?
Working with Directors' Centre people you get consultancy and coaching in our particular style - the same philosophy and approach that permeates all our work - honest, practical, challenging, goading, output-oriented and results-focused. Our consultants and coaches are trained and qualified but, more importantly, they have run (and/or are running) their own businesses. More about us.
